Had a really great midweek break at the summer house. Accommodation was finished to an excellent standard. Complimentary bread, eggs and butter were a nice touch. The hot tub was great. An ore idyllic setting would be hard to find. Altogether an excellent stay which I am sure will be repeated soon.

We stayed in Dovecote for our anniversary, and it was everything we could have wanted and more. There was fresh eggs and (very) fresh bread which had just been made by Karl, and prosecco cooling in the fridge! The hot tub was great on our first night to watch the sun go down over the fields and rolling hills. Location is great, off the beaten track but not far away from the main road which we used every day to go to places such as Leyburn )The Sandpiper Inn was lovely!(, Bolton Castle & Hardraw Force. The two labradors were always there to greet us and we were sad to say goodbye to them! There are some great walks around and we can't recommend this part of the country enough. So beautiful.

Stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my partner for a romantic break away in the Yorkshire Dales. Decorated, to a very high standard, with all you will need to make it home from home, the hot tub is a must, my advice is to take advantage of the drop and dip service if you want a hassle free stay. Great location for getting out and about to explore what this part of Yorkshire has to offer. A very warm welcome from Karl, and his two dogs, and the complimentary welcome back of tea, milk, fresh homemade bread & eggs was appreciated and a nice touch, as was the bottle of Prosecco. All in all a great stay and weekend, and would highly recommend if your looking for a quiet location that isn't too remote.

Arbour Hill was the most stunning retreat for myself and partner. Karl and team were so warm and welcoming when we first arrived. Prior to visit I arranged time of arrival and information was sent over about our speciality hamper which consisted of homemade bread, eggs, butter, milk and prosecco. The cottage was beautifully designed, super warm and extremely clean. Karl was always on hand if there was any troubles or worries in our week. Arbour Hill was great location to seeing so many amazing sights in the Yorkshire Dales.

Stayed 3 nights in the dove cote for my boyfriends 21st as a chilled weekend away and we both can’t fault it. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday night to a hot tub all ready for use, balloons as an extra set up with prosecco in the fridge waiting! We had freshly made bread which we asked for an extra 2 loaves to take home with us )sooooo tasty!( fresh eggs, milk and butter. They couldn’t do enough for us and made sure we had everything we need! Perfect few nights away with the most amazing views, would 1000% be returning and recommending to everyone who wants a chilled, relaxed few nights away.

We recently stayed here for an anniversary trip and loved every minute. The cottage is cozy and beautifully decorated, perfect for a romantic retreat or to recharge your batteries. The location is wonderful, lots of nice areas for country walks and it is within close distance to some lovely small towns and villages to explore. Karl and Aisling were extremely welcoming, )as were Tess and Darcy( providing us with lovely homemade bread, prosecco and fresh eggs! They even helped arrange for a bouquet of flowers to be waiting for us on arrival. We had the most relaxing time during our four night stay and we will definitely be booking another visit this year, couldn't fault a thing!!

We stayed in this lovely cottage for 5 days and it was the perfect break. The owners of the cottage greeted us on arrival and showed us around. They had gone to so much trouble and provided us with so many lovely little extras which we were not expecting and really helped us to feel at home, including butter, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, fresh eggs, chocolate and even a bottle of Prosecco! Then later in the evening, the owner knocked on the door and had brought us a loaf of home made bread (which was delicious)! There were tulips in the kitchen and swans made from towels and robes in the bedroom (which we were so excited about as we have always wanted towel swans and we have never had them before)! The cottage was well equipped with everything you would need (toaster, kettle, pans, kitchen utensils etc. but make sure you remember to take your hair dryer) and the quality of the robes, towels, bathroom products felt like luxury products. The cottage itself was so quirky which we loved. It is small but very cosy and some people would probably miss that there was no living room, however we actually preferred this cottage to any other that we have stayed in and found that no living room was needed. The views are amazing and it is the perfect place to go if you want to get away from everything. We enjoyed days out in Bedale, Hawes, Richmond, Middleham, Layburn and Knaresborough which were all ideally located to this lovely cottage. We did not have the opportunity to use the hot tub during our stay due to the weather, however we are definitely going to rebook and we will hopefully get to use it next time! Finally, the owners have 2 lovely black labradors and a gorgeous black cat, who were all so friendly and made our stay even more lovely. Thank you for a wonderful trip, we will definitely be back again soon and will recommend your cottage to friends and family. This was our favourite place we have stayed together in 14 years :(.

The cottage is set in the heart of the countryside, with a view from the hot tub and garden of rolling fields and a beautiful castle nestled in the distance. The cottage itself is small but perfectly formed. Everything has been done to the highest standard, and the space has been very cleverly used, so you still have a gorgeous bedroom with a charming Juliet balcony, a wet room bathroom and a kitchen with a breakfast bar - everything you need! There's a table and chairs outside your door, looking out on the beautiful property and gardens. If you're lucky you'll be visited by the 2 resident black Labradors, who are just adorable. The personal touches, such as the fresh homemade bread, eggs from the owners' hens, and tea and milk are such a lovely, thoughtful, and useful, touch. The owners themselves are a lovely couple - very friendly and welcoming, and always happy to help if you need them. The hot tub is fantastic, and soaking in it, smelling the smoke from the wood fire that powers it, and looking out over the countryside, you really feel you couldn't be anywhere better. Book it - you'll love it!

Stayed in June for a week and had an amazing time, made to feel very welcome by owners with lots of info and with fresh bread and eggs. Beautiful surroundings, so quiet and peaceful..... Greatly helped by the hot tub with great views. Lovely cottage ideal for couple wanting a relaxing break. But there are lots of places to visit in the surrounding areas too.

We have just enjoyed a lovely, relaxing weekend here, and can't recommend it enough. Beautiful grounds and the views to match. The accommodation is small but perfectly formed, lovely decor and very clean. The hosts were brilliant - Karl couldn't do enough, with prosecco chilling in the fridge and freshly baked bread being a couple of the lovely extra touches! We were also emailed an information pack upon booking full of places to go and eat which was really helpful! So glad we chose here for our little summer getaway!

Cute little cottage with amazing open views of the countryside set within the grounds of a stunning listed building. We had a lovely 2 night break and would definitely revisit. Karl and Aisling were very welcoming and there if you needed them along with their four legged friends. The cottage is well equipped and beautifully designed. The hot tub is just perfect to relax in on a weekend break away minus the children!

We returned this afternoon from a gorgeous weekend at Arbour Hill, we stayed in the Summer House cottage, which had everything you could possibly need for a romantic & relaxing stay for 2. We loved the scenic views from the hot tub of the castle in the distance and rolling hills, eating alfresco in the sunshine, we truly felt at total peace the whole stay. The TV in the bedroom had Netflix which we took great advantage of every evening. The list of things to do nearby & places to eat & drink was very useful, we did Aysgarth falls & a few bistro pubs but mainly wanted to be back at the cottage in the little haven of tranquility. Helen was looking after the estate this weekend and was super helpful and friendly, she made our stay just perfect... even laughing at my husbands rubbish jokes!! All in all we would greatly recommend anyone who is considering a stay at Arbour Hill to go ahead and book, you won't be disappointed and we are already saving for our next stay as soon as possible! The Summer House is a beautiful cottage, complete with everything you need for a comfortable stay, in a gorgeous setting. Karl and Aisling are the perfect hosts, on hand to give advice and welcoming from the moment you enter the property. Tess & Darcy the dogs also came to say hi. We enjoyed exploring the local area - from beautiful walks to cosy pubs, the Dales has everything you need for a refreshing, relaxing break. Soaking in the hot tub at the end of the day was a great way to spend the evening with a glass of prosecco. We'll definitely be back - lots left to explore in this charming part of Britain.

A real find, the Summer House is a little gem! A beautiful little cottage set in gorgeous grounds with so much character but all the mod cons you could want and a really comfortable bed! We loved spending a rare childfree few days here relaxing, chilling in the wood burning hot tub and enjoying the walks and stunning views. Karl & Aisling live close by and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and also provided some basics including freshly laid eggs from their chickens and a homemade loaf as well as a chilled bottle of Prosecco, which went down very nicely on the first evening! We'll certainly be returning and would highly recommend it as a lovely place to spend time relaxing, with lots of walks, pubs and pretty villages and market towns to explore.

From the beautiful surroundings, fabulous hosts, friendly dogs and luxurious cottage - this is the most perfect way to spend a weekend - bar none....... Just add perfect company. From the moment we arrived at Arbour Hill, we were completely blown away. A quiet, relaxing location with stunning views to North, South, East and West. The cottage has high spec, modern conveniences and is tastefully done. Cosy and chic with the type of finish and attention to detail we can only aspire to have at home! A lovely hamper full of goodies, (chilled Prosecco, freshly baked bread, preserves, freshly laid eggs from the resident chickens and milk for that all important first cup of tea) was a fabulous touch. We were greeted by our hosts Karl and Aisling who struck that very difficult balance between being there if needed and allowing privacy - like they've been doing it all their lives. You got the feeling that they really welcome guests to their beautiful home. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was cool on hot days - throwing open the windows on the juliette balcony was the best way to start the morning. Pulling back the perfectly fitted curtains to look out through the round window to Hornby Castle, sipping a cup of tea in bed.... It simply does not get any better. Cosy on a night time, the bed and bed linen were so comfortable I remember very little after falling asleep halfway through an old movie watched from the comfort of our bed. We are already looking at future dates we can book... I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much a truly lovely weekend. Davina and Richard. Ps. Give Darcy and Tess, the adorable and well behaved black Labs, a stroke. You'll make friends for life. X

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely three night stay in the gorgeous Dove Cote. Quaint quirky but perfectly formed with lovely decor and everything you need for a quiet break away. The Dove cote and its twin property The Summer House both now have access to their own private exclusive use wooden wood burner hot tubs which is a great feature and we used the optional service of it being set up by owner Karl and was ready waiting for us heated up with a glass of chilled prosecco. Karl and Aisling are great hosts nothing is too much trouble and we loved meeting the resident Labradors with their wagging tails when we returned from our trips out. Welcome pack of a few essentials eggs from the resident chickens and a loaf of home made bread is great. The properties and surrounding quiet countryside make this an ideal treat for couples seeking a peaceful weekend away. Thanks again Karl and Aisling we will definitely be back.

We stayed at Arbour Hill Dove cote a few weeks ago. Karl was really welcoming upon arrival showing us how the hot tub worked and giving us infomation about the local area. We did the drop a dip which what amazing after a long drive, definitely recommended!! Dove cote is compact but had all that we needed for a few nights away. The freshly baked bread on arrival and eggs from the chickens was a really nice added touch. The views from the hot tub are amazing and it's a lovely way to wind down in the evening after a days walking in the beautiful country side. We will definitely be recommending Arbour Hill to friends and family who are looking for a short break and pure relaxation...and hopefully we'll be back one day too!

What a wonderful and idyllic setting to sit back, relax and recharge those batteries!!! We had the pleasure of 4 nights in the Summer House, the cottage has been renovated with so much thought, passion and love, there is everything you could possibly need all equipped and laid out to a very high standard. Easy parking a lovely outside seating area to enjoy breakfast in the grounds which are a fantastic accomplishment by the owners Karl and Aisling. Nothing was too much trouble, a lovely welcome pack was laid out so no need to bring lots of essentials with you. The hot tub was amazing, relax enjoy the views, very private and secluded. Huge thanks to Aisling for her kindness and being so welcoming that set the stall for one of the best short stays we have had in a long time, of course I can't forget Darcy and Tess... what beautiful well behaved dogs they are!!!! Definitely recommend this stay it's an absolute steal and very good value for money, no hidden extras as with some places. We will be back!!!

We stayed in Summer House but Dovecote is a mirror image and would have been equally lovely. This was a really peaceful, luxurious and relaxing break in a rather chilly February. We were delighted to find the whole site runs on biomass heating and solar powered hot water. Bliss - no shortage of heat and showers which is crucial on a winter break. The whole property is beautifully crafted and finished - because of its quirky nature most fittings have been hand crafted to fit. The bed was comfortable and the location was really restful which meant we had great sleep while we were there. The kitchen area was great for breakfasts and the welcome hamper was a helpful, and delicious, addition full of local produce. We really enjoyed nestling down here and there are the Dales to go and play in, along with lots of great places to eat out in the area. We saw the new formal gardens being created and they will be glorious by the summer. We are planning to return so we can see them finished and take advantage of the outdoor seating areas which have stunning views of the gardens and landscape beyond.

I booked this cottage as a surprise for my husband's birthday and everything about it was wonderful. The location is stunning, with views from both the cottage bedroom and the hot tub being fields and greenery! The setting is serene and very quiet )wonderful for relaxation and peaceful nights sleep(. The cottage itself is stunning; the conversion has been done very well maximising the space whilst keeping the original charm and it has all of the mod cons. The bed is so comfy! We were also pleasantly surprised by the high speed wifi in such a rural location. )Optional; is free of charge complimentary to your booking but if you want a complete rest from work and emails simply don't log in!(. Karl and Aisling were very welcoming and accommodating. Waiting for us upon arrival was a chilled bottle of Prosecco, fresh eggs and Aisling's home baked bread )this was delicious!!(. In addition lots to do and see in the surrounding area; and lots of variety for eating options )Michelin star restaurants down to normal 'pub grub' places and little cafe/tea rooms(. Information on all of this is sent through by the owners prior to arrival. Hope to be back soon and have already recommended to everyone I know. Cannot think of a single negative point or area for improvement; we had a wonderful time and left feeling completely relaxed and recharged.
