SEALWOOD COTTAGE was built in the mid 1700's by the Rev. Thomas Gresley as a retreat probably as a HUNTING LODGE or FOLLY to entertain his friends.

This Grade II listed timber framed with brick infill building was originally thatched with an enormous chimney (removed many years ago and replaced with tiles) now restored to a very high standard incorporating many original features and benefiting from some new modern conveniences for a SPECIAL HOLIDAY RETREAT, adjoining our Victorian Extension but completely private.

Timber framed, with gothic doors and windows in a large warm and comfortable prospect room has the benefit of underfloor geothermal heating with a small modern convenient kitchen off the main room. A spiral staircase leading to a fine handsome bedroom with pyramid ceiling, gothic freize, and many other quirky features including an original secret bed.

The Accommodation comprises of a Double Bedroom, with an adjoining Bathroom. A Dining/Sitting Room with adjoining Small Kitchen with a Fridge, Two Ring Hob and Combination Microwave.

The cottage is peaceful in the heart of the National Forest, yet with panoramic views.
